My fans have stopped working. Noticed coolant temp was getting high, like 208, for no apparent reason. When I got home I realized there was no fan noise. Cycled the ignition switch and got a sound like one fan was trying to function. Overflow tank is right at upper mark. Anybody have any idea what the life of these fans is? Bike has 54,000 miles on it. Seems like this would be time use related thing, to a large extent. |

I lost a fan within the first year of ownership. Bearing seize...but both at same time? Sounds like possible ECM issue, IIRC, the ground in the ECM is closed to provide power. |

Check the fans contacts's integrity where they plug into the wire harness. Corrosion there can cause a fan to stop working. |

Rode the 1125 off to coffee this morning, 5 miles. Fans worked perfectly. Coolant temp stable at 183F. On ride home fans didn't work at all. Coolant got up to 208F. Am considering just putting a manual switch on the fan power. In my local climate I could think abt just hard wiring them on. Probably not a good idea really. Ambient temp was mid 70's And so it goes. |
