Is this the "Harley fix" harness? its built into the harness with some friction tape. The RR plugs into what looks like wires from the stator and these plugs just lay around in here unplugged. Also. PO said he upgraded the RR. How do I tell if it is, as the Ricks and RM stator units look pretty much the same as the OEM unit.

V/R in original position? Doubt that's an upgrade. If it has Ducati stamped on the back it's the original. V/R upgrade should be a series type, not a shunt type, heavier than the original, and a finned case for heat dissipation |

That appears to be the Harley "fix" harness, and I don't believe that's a stock regulator. At least it doesn't look identical to the Ducati units on my '08 and '09. If I think about it in the morning, I'll snap a pic of one of mine and post it. On second reading, are you talking about the regulator/rectifier or the stator? Hard to say...I'm accustomed to seeing mine with that black plastic piece above the wire entrance. It's possible it's been removed on yours.. Can you see the lettering cast into the top edge on this one? It says Ducati. If you can't see that edge clearly on yours, try moving some wires and using a small inspection mirror. |
