Sooo.. my CR was outside through a nasty storm a couple weeks ago, and now it has quite a bit of moisture inside the speedo. I thought it would go away after being in the sun for a while, but it's there, and gets worse when the bike is running for a while, pretty much clousing up the whole thing to where I can't see anything except the tach. Anyone deal with this? Is there a way to clear it? |

I have not had the issue with the Buell, but I did have the tachometer on my Harley XR1200 do the same thing. I was instructed to remove it and put it in a bag of rice, dry uncooked. I did and within a day the rice had pulled the moisture out of the instrument. |

The speedo isnt' sealed, so it might dry out - and leave water marks it's VERY easy to disassemble, don't be scared off by the thought |

How do you remove the "crystal" from the IC to clean it out? |

Here is a good step by step on how to take apart the cluster and put it back together. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/720568.html?1377934425 |

Thanks guys. It ended up clearing up after a while, but did leave a stain that shows up after riding for a while. Will take it apart when I'm doing the big teardown sometime over the winter. |
