Hello everyone, so I recently purchased a buell 1125r with a barker exhaust. I love how loud it is, but I have neighbors who don't love it as much. Especially when I leave to work at 4 am. Any suggstions other than switching back to stock? I'd love it if I can get something that sounds more like a regular street bike, but all those exhausts seem to be 500 and up. Eventually I'd like one, but it seems pricey with the money I just spent on the bike. Any cheap solutions or cheap exhausts I can replace it with?

The only aftermarket exhaust I've heard that wasn't unreasonably loud is the Dean Adams MT-1, which is a modified version of the stock exhaust

You can get a quiet core for a Barker size 1" 1 1/2" 1 5/8" also is the packing good in the Barker?

Do you think the quiet core will make a considerable difference? Sorry, I'm new to the bike thing in general. Whats packing in bike jargon? Lol

Here is a cheap fix: I have an HMF can, which is loud also. If i am riding in late at night or early in the morning, i just ride like an old lady and keep the RPM's under 3k or even coast in neutral to my driveway. That has been working for me the last 6+ years. Just my 2 cents!

Buy your neighbors some earplugs. Mu neighbors are dickheads so I enjoy a loud exhaust.

Thanks again. I'm going with the cheap and easy quiet core which I just ordered. When I put it on I'll check if It needs new packing. Thanks once more. You guys are great!

When I had my Barkers the quiet core made a good dent in that raspy lobe——I bet it'll work out well for your neighbors.

Once the can gets 50% or so of the packing blown out, though... she gets reeeeeal loud. I would buy a repack kit just for when you need to do it.
