Was riding the other day in heavy traffic and the CEL came on.. Continued riding for another 5 min and parked bike to check it out. Had codes U 0001 (probably historic code) P0087 and P0193. I know the are fuel pressure related. I checked in DIAG with bike cold and fuel pressure leveled around 420. Is my fuel pump on its way out? Fuel pressure sensor? Also CEL never came back on again after a couple more stop starts. Not sure which way to look? Thanks for any help. O its a 2008 1125R BTW

So went out for another ride and CEL back on within 10 miles. Got on xpressway and rolled on throttle and bucked like a mule. Turned for home and CEL went out within 10 miles so I rolled on throttle and all was good?WTF? got home and checked fuel pressure runnning and if i blipped the throttle it would drop into the 2xx's also jumped all over at idle. Is it the fuel pump or could it just be the fuel pressure sensor? Guess the poker run on Sunday is out for me.

the "feed through" connection to the pump can go bad....see NoBuell's description in the second post...try wiggling the wires down by that feed through (bulkhead)connections...if it get's better or worse (the pump stops working) you have found the cause of the erratic pump pressure
