This bike had a CEL code for the fuel pump, so I replaced just the pump with an aftermarket one and it ran better than ever for the first ride. The CEL came on 150 miles from home but it was not changing performance at all, so I ride it home like that. I checked the code and it said there was a problem with the fuel pressure sensor. I checked the wires for proper voltage and ground, and it looks proper so I replace the sensor. Starts up beautifully now and runs but after letting it warm up and ride for 1 mile it starts acting like it's running out of gas. It stutters bad at any constant RPM and during acceleration. The onboard diagnostics show weird fluctuation with fuel pressure.

Please watch this video of the diagnostics.

No CEL on, half tank of gas, starts and idles great, spark plugs have 500 miles, 10k miles on bike, Keda RT3 with newer ECM (Keda tuned)

there are two connectors that could be causing an issue...
1) the flat 4 pin grey connector under the seat...there have been reports of a erratic connection causing fueling issues
2) the "feed thru" connector outside the fuel pump "housing" and internally to the fuel pump inside the frame/tank..the connector fails over time and has to be "rebuilt" with new wire connections and fuel proof epoxy...see this link:

hope this helps

The eBay pump that I purchased did not have the proper high pressure from the beginning. I would put it at the top of the suspect list. I ended up buying a new pump to resolve my issue. I have read that people have successfully used after market kits on XTs but they have much lower pressure injection systems. If you have a new pressure sensor reading low or erratic pressure, suspect the pump. The pump electrical connection could also be a problem as well. Good luck.

Check the tank vent/overflow tube to make sure it isn't blocked -
