I recently discovered there was a Buell get together at Deals Gap last April the same weekend I was in the area for a shovelhead get together. The shovelhead function was at Kickstand Lodge, on 28, not far at all from Deals Gap. As a matter of fact, I rode the Dragon for the first time that Saturday on my highly modified '76 FXE. (Unfortunately, the modifications are not the kind needed to improve the handling... It was built for fast interstate cruising). It handles pretty good for what it is, but is not a Deals Gap bike. I bought the first Buell about three weeks later... I'd been thinking about buying one since meeting and becoming intrigued by one while riding near Helen, GA about three years prior. Once I rode one, I was hooked, and I still haven't reached the limits of what the bike will do. | ||
