Does anyone have experience with Jet hots ceramic coating? They have the 1300 coat and the more heat insulating 2500 coat. I'm unsure which to consider. The 2500 is a 100$ more expensive so kind of want to know if it is worth it...

I have experience with both on my XBs, having lived with the coatings through humid summers.
I know it is not scientific, but the heat coming off the 2500 coated set seems to be half again less than what the heat reduction was for the 1300 set I had before, which itself was very noticeable.
I am happy with it, and feel it was worth the extra $$s.

In both cases Jet-Hot uses the 1300 for the inside coating.
The 2500 is a matte rough finish, if that matters.
I was warned by them that the 2500 is more susceptible to impact damage from stones and such, but I took the chance and it has not been an issue, after having ridden quite a few dirt roads in Maryland, West bygod Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

You don't need "2500 degree" protection as that number is somewhat subjective. In reality, any High Temp Ceramic in the 1700F - 2000F+ range will work great.

You didn't say what color you were looking for but I would DEFINITELY suggest AGAINST any traditional "Bright Ceramic Coating". This type of ceramic is only rated at 1000F to 1100F metal temp which translates to 1300F - 1500F EGT. As a result, your bike will dull out Bright Ceramic rather quickly.

Why, thank you Mr. Owens.
She is a XB12Ss, 2009, Ulygized slowly over the years.

I am no longer afraid to get caught in rush hour traffic in the most sultry of days now that the radiant heat from the pipes has been mitigated ( mostly).

I should add: I did have a ceramic coating done by a local outfit before to the header and muffler and it deteriorated within a year, even though I followed their baking-in instructions to a T. It also didn't work to reduce the heat felt as well as the Jet-hot that I had done to a previous XB, so I ponied up and had Jet-hot recoat the pipe and muffler. Jet-hot had no such bake-in procedure. This photo shows the grey 2500 coating. The muffler is the 1300 in matte black.
