Thanks to long term use of certain meds made necessary by long term use of other meds, my prostate is significantly enlarged. (Damned auto-correct...I changed it back to prostate after noticing it posted as prostrate) Riding the stock seat is damned uncomfortable. Has anyone else with the same situation tried the Saddleman seat with the channel in the middle, or had a custom seat made that works for them? I use the Corbin Pacific dual tour saddle with backrest on a couple of my other bikes with good results, but that's not an option for the Buell. (Message edited by Panshovevo on October 07, 2015) |

I have a Baldwin, but would go with a Saddleman option with the taint speed channel if I could do it over. Longer rides are more comfortable than the stock pancake, but the foam is quite hard and I start to get shifty after about 45 minutes. |

I am nuts about my 1125CRs Saddlemen Carbon. I am old and really appreciate the design. The high density foam is very comfortable, especially on big bumps. I have 24k miles on my CR and 106,000 miles on my 96S1 that I bought in 97. |

Thanks, guys. It would appear Saddlemen no longer offers seats for Buells. |

Well I'll be damned... went to check American Sport Bike and you're right, no more Saddleman seats! Bummer. |

It would appear Saddlemen no longer offers seats for Buells. ^ That truly is an uncomfortable topic! Well, one less thing I'll need to spend $$$ on... 1313 P.S. Honestly I find the old Buell accessory seat satisfactory. |

I had prostate cancer and had both surgery and radiation therapy. The doctor thought that I could go back to riding after 8 months or so... if I rode a cruiser. So after waiting a while longer I contacted Saddlemen, sent them my Buell 1125CR seat and had them create me a seat with the channel in the middle. It was a one off for me but they later started selling them through American Sport Bike. Anyway, it made it possible for me to ride the Buell. No problems at all as it takes most of your weight off the perineal area. It worked so well that I had Saddlemen take my BMW K1200S seat and do the same thing to the front section. Cost a few bucks but allowed me to keep riding sport bikes. They even helped me with words of encouragement regarding my battle with cancer. I recommend that you contact Saddlemen, tell them your plight and get your seat modified. |

Any good seat maker would be able to duplicate it. Its a great idea. I'm 50 now so ill be trying to source one myself as I'm having some issues as well. |

Utesch, thanks. That's what I needed to know. Glad you're back to riding. Fig, I'll check with a local seat guy. If he can't do what I want, I'll try Saddlemen. |

So, I called Saddlemen today and talked to one of their sales reps. He didn't know the Buell seats were no longer on the web site, or at the dealers. He took my name and number, was going to check to see if he could still get one for me and call back, but never did. Guess I'll call back tomorrow and see if I can get a different sales guy. |

Funny I emailed saddlemen about a seat for my Firebolt on Monday and they said they'd get back to me but haven't heard anything yet. |

We had to buy them in a relatively large quantity and sales had fallen off on them, so we stopped selling them. When someone asked about it, I asked Saddlemen and they said that they hadn't been discontinued. If I can get 10 seats pre-sold, I can get them in. Chime in here if you'd order one if we had them and if there's enough interest, I'll make it happen. Thanks Al |

I'm assuming that the Saddlemen pricing hasn't changed since we last ordered, but $259.95. Al |

I am on the fence about this, but it seems to me a separate group-buy thread may be in order here. Perhaps upload some pics of the Saddlemen......I forgot how it looks |

When we were getting them, we had to order a bunch, but could mix and match the 4 different types; sport, track, track-CF, and tech. But we stopped selling the tech version after several folks had issues with the covering ripping at the staples. Here are some pictures of the Track, Track-CF, and Sport seats:

Note: If you don't already have them, you really need the seat hold down pins for the saddlemen (or baldwin, Corbin, or Buell touring seat). The stock seat is easy enough to fold back to get access to the stupid screws that hold the seat on, but these thicker seats make that a bit more of a challenge. And with the 1125R in particular, the rivnuts in the subframe will cross thread if you just look at them crosseyed, and it's a mother to fix if that happens. Why do they call it the "track" seat? Is the material slipperier for shifting around? My main concern compared to stock is the ability to hang off the bike, does the Saddlemen's squarer edge profile affect this? also, what exactly is the diff between the track and track-CF? Thanks. |

I am potentially interested in one of the seats and am also curious about the CF designation to the track seat? |

I have no idea why they use the name, but it isn't Buell specific. They've had the 4 different series names (Tech, Sport, Track, Track-CF) for a while. My personal opinion is that the stock seat is better for the track, but the saddlemen seat is better for the street. The track and Track-CF are almost identical. The track seats have a simulated stainless steel vinyl strip in the channel, the CF has the same CF (carbon fiber) textured covering material on the strip cover. The track seat is a mix plain vinyl and CF textured vinyl as shown in the pictures above. The track-CF has the same CF textured vinyl on ALL the panels. The difference is 100% cosmetic, they have the same foam and dimensions. |

I have the track seat and have used it at the track. It's awesome. I've always hated the stock seat.

From the time that they're ordered until they're here to ship is likely about 6 weeks or so. I have no control over their production schedule. I just sent them an inquiry to find out how long it would take, but they said "Our foam machine is down right now as soon as it is back up I can give you an estimate on how long." But at this point, I don't think that there has been enough folks to move forward with the purchase. I need 10 minimum to be able to order them, but there's only been about 1/2 of that that have expressed interest, and some of those weren't solid commitments. I only saw Zhen13 and Nate saying a definite yes, and 4 others that said maybe based on timeframe and such. So I think this may be dead. But I'll give this one more try: If you are willing to commit to buying one, based on the above pricing and a delivery that is most likely NOT going to occur before the first of the year or so, post here with nothing but your name and the seat that you want, i.e. Al Lighton, Track-CF. Maybe's based on schedule or whatever don't work, I can't plan around those. Commit or don't. If I get 10 commitments, I'll make it happen. Al |
