Here is the situation - 1125cr 2009. Rick’s made in Taiwan stator, EBR rotor, IC 6.2, no grounds on the stator since the fix, makes 20 amps at idle and 40 at 3k. I keep getting engine lights, “comm error”, sometimes the bike will stall and I get the resulting “theft error”. The volts per the IC display are 14.1 to 13.1. I have checked the connections below the IC and the wiring harness under the seat and behind the left pod, all with the bike running with no issues apparent. I have checked the battery connections and the battery is in a good state of charge. There seems to be no real pattern today 5 minutes in w/ 175 degrees WT and 13.8 volts – Comm Error. Ideas? |

Correction 20 and 40 volts, not amps as I stated in the post. |

I got this a couple of rides ago on my 09 with no modifications on original stator with 6K on it. Bike ran a bit lumpy for 10 miles and stalled with comms error.Turned of and back on again and it started and ran fine for another 50 miles of fairly fast pace then stalled. Turned off and started fine and rode back 50 miles no problem. Next ride my stator failed and I did the ride of shame back in a recovery truck!. Phwx2, have you done the diagnostic flow chart procedure in the Electrical manual for Comm Error? |

Finally got back to this problem in my life. This turned out to be a ECM issue. IDS ECM for stock 1125cr seems to have fixed the problem, 2 rides with no issues. Thanks for the dope slap. |
