So I'm home now and I need some advice on fixing this problem. So if i'm understanding my problem correctly, my stator is probably burned out but my rotor should still be OK.is that correct? Either way I would like to fix this problem permanently. So my next question is where do I go for a new rotor with the oil jet and the new stator? And I've also been reading about a regulater?? If someone could help me that would be great. Thanks |

How I fixed my CR was in 2010 i found a 08 rotor on ebay and bought a 08 stator and installed them 15000kms trouble free. You could get the rotor mod from Twin Motorcycle and get a ricks stator you could maybe find a 08 rotor and stator on ebay.I have stock regulators on both my 08R and my 09CR never had a problem yet, lots of choices out there goggle is your friend. good luck if I lived out east i would consider a 08 engine from pinwall. |

so, to go the '2008 route'.. you replace stator and rotor w/ the 2008 versions? thats it? |

I did the 2008 stator/rotor, but that was the only option back in the day. If I had to do it again, I would do the modified rotor by EBR or Twin Motorcycles. It is technically the same amount of work as either way you need to swap the rotor, but still having the stock stator output helps especially in traffic with fans and everything going. |
