Doing a little reading today, and ran across a couple of tidbits of info that were news to me. Variable intake ports are in production... Massimo Tamburini developed a system which was used on the MV Augusta F4 Tamburini, and Yamaha developed a computer controlled system used on the later Vmax models. Both systems vary the intake tract length, and shift the torque band up and down the rpm range. |

Panshovevo, Those efforts were not variable port examples. They were variable length velocity stacks. Those have been around for many years. Variable ports would vary the port volume, not length. |

Yes, I misspoke. Should have said intake tract, not port. I need to research the systems further though, as I got the impression from what I read that they vary the distance between the throttle plate and the intake valve. |

FINALLY. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. ABOUT DAMN TIME A TURBO POPPED UP ON ONE!!!! Where did the picture come from?? I have been scouring the internet for years looking for something. I have a turbo in the garage waiting to go on mine. |
