My 1125CR has an aftermarket exhaust system installed. The PO named the system in the CL ad where I found it, but the ad was removed the day I bought it, most likely because he had a ton of tags attached to it. I can't remember the name of the system, and he hasn't been good about responding to my texted questions. Here are a couple of pics. The resolution isn't great, having been processed through Photobucket, but hopefully it's good enough.

Is that a riot?? Hr 1 or whatever. If I remember right they are just loud and don't make much of a performance improvement over stock. |

I'm fairly certain that it is a Free Spirits exhaust that has been painted. |

Froggy, it looks a lot like a picture I saw of a Free Spirit system but doesn't have the Siamese type joint ahead of the muffler. Did another version use the junction shown in the second pic above? The support and clamps that hold the mufflers together behind the front junction look identical to those seen in a pic of the Free Spirit system though. |

There were a couple of revisions on that pipe I believe. It's a FS exhaust. |

Free Spirits had at least 3 or 4 different pipes, some were slip-ons like you have, others were full systems. |

There was another brand that looked like free spirits. I can't recall the name atm. |

That pic shows up in a Google web search for Free Spirits exhaust. Apparently they no longer offer exhaust systems. I found the spiral baffle interesting. Never seen one before, but had thought of trying one, with a twist (pun intended) to it...been working on a 2 into one system for a Shovelhead, and had though about making a spiral baffle with a decreasing radius to it. The right ratio might do interesting things... I couldn't find any real performance info on them. Anyone ever done a true comparison to a stock system, or any other system? The PO said the EBR Race Tuner was tweaked for the exhaust and filter, and made an honest 130 at the rear wheel on a conservative dyno on a hot Florida day. He has a good bit of experience with such matters, being an experienced racer, but I plan to have a local run a couple of pulls with it to see what it shows on his dyno, and to see if I can smooth out the 3-4500 rpm range a bit. It pulls like a freight train even in that RPM range with enough throttle opening, but is a little fussy at low throttle settings in that range. Incidentally, I found that when the 6mmx20 bolts in the ends strip out, it's a simple matter to run a 1/4x20 tap in the hole and put a 1/4x20 bolt in it. |
