Not sure how, but a question and pic I posted ended up in the wrong section of the forum. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/763540.html?1432749618 It was about this object found in the strainer screen.

Its the isolation compound from the stator! some time ago there was another post about this. |

I tried JB Weld where a lot of mine came off after a few 1000 miles still looks good |

According to the PO, the stator has been replaced, along with the rotor. Hopefully that piece is off the old one. |

That's not from the stator, that's from the stator rotor. It's epoxy that seals the inner ring to the outer shell. Not uncommon to see that caught in the screen when it's pulled off. The epoxy is more likely to come off when it gets really hot, like before the rotor was modified for the oiling passage. I'm guessing that's leftover from the 1st rotor that was in the bike. Lots of guys people pull that screen out and inspect at each oil change - not a bad idea. |

I'm going to add, it's damn near impossible (is impossible) to get to the strainer if you have the stock exhaust. (Or.. the exhaust needs to come off.. forget it) |
