I recently purchased an 08 and I have seen somewhere that the 09 Instrument Cluster can be swapped on the 08 with no issues and that it is plug and play. Anyone ever do the swap? Where there any issues? What are the advantages into doing this? Thanks germ |

09 cluster has the gear indicator. When I had my 08, the dealer swapped a 09 cluster in it under warranty because the 08 cluster was draining my battery. |

Done it on mine. Simple swap but if you buy a used cluster it'll read the mileage of that one |

Was there any issue regarding the theft system? Wonder if there would be any issues swapping to an 09 with the EBR Race ECM. Do you use the gear indicator? Not sure that I would, I like to monitor the temps instead. Thanks |

Assuming the theft system was turned off before the swap you won't get any theft error. I like the gear indicator, no it is not necessary but it is nice. 09 cluster also adds the voltage readout if I remember right. (Been a while since I've been out on my 08) One thing I like better about the 08 cluster is that it remembers what display you were on when you turn the key on, the 09 will reset back to the air temperature each time. |

On the 08, I have to select the air temps each time too. I might like the gear indicator, I think I'll look for one around my mileage if possible. Thanks for the replies. |
