Curious as to thoughts on a reasonable price for private sale on my 2008 1125R. I am getting to where my truck needs to be replaced, and current financial situation would put me in a much better position if I were to have some extra thousands in my pocket. I HATE to get rid of her because she is near perfect and I LOVE her to death. BUT, I am hoping to hear some input on reasonable asking price. So, here is the quick info. This thread is not meant to be a classified ad...I will post one when I have it detailed and new pics taken. 2008 1125R 37K miles Always synthetic Personal and dealer maintenance mix ~500 miles on front Michelin PR3 ~1500 miles on rear Michelin PR3 Mod stuff: Uly drop-pegs Buell Race Rotor HID headlight conversion LED marker lights Buell heated grips Buell tail bag Buell deluxe tank bag Buell soft saddle bags Buell airbox bra Delryn sliders for axles and bar ends Custom stainless tail chop 2010 LED tail light Extras available: Pitbull stands (f/r) Stock rotor Stock tail light Stock pegs Factory manuals (all) Buell 12v adaptor (cigarette lighter) Tourmaster jacket (near new) Fly gloves (worn once) Damage: Some scratches on left pod (slipped in gravel when stopping 3 years ago) I am probably missing some things. This is my first swag at putting together the information, and I just did it now on the fly without fist thinking about it. Anyway, if you guys could give some input on what would be reasonable, I sure would appreciate it. If there are questions that could be answered and would contribute to potential resale, I am of course happy to answer them. @#%!@#%!@# I hate to think I may be bikeless soon.. |

If you are going to sell start high because you will get 100's of low ball offers. I have my 09 CR listed for $5000 but it has a lot less miles at 6800. KBB can get you in the ball park. Trade in price on a 09 is $3800 and retail is $5500. |

If anyone else has a stock rotor for sale, I'd take it. |

Thanks for the replies. I think $3500 is unreasonably low. I am fairly certain that I could sell it locally for more than that in less than 24 hours. I think KBB shows something like $4800 for private sale. I am not really looking to sell the rotor. If it doesn't go with the bike, I will likely make it the support for a glass-top end table. Since the rotor is the same as the XB models, they should be easily found, right? |

"Since the rotor is the same as the XB models," I wasn't aware of that. Can anyone confirm? |

The OEM rotor was different between the 1125 and XB? Hmmm that's news to me. All the aftermarket rotors are the same fitment for XB and 1125 |

Totally different power plants. Even the 09-10 1125 uses a different rotor and stator than the 08's I helped a neighbor do his stator on his XB9 and it didn't look the same. |

I think he may be referring to the front brake rotor? |

I would think $4k is about the top. |

Indeed, I meant the front brake rotor. Sorry for any confusion. I realize, after thinking a lot about the input here, that the value is possibly diminished further by the price slashing on new EBR models. I do think I could fetch 4-4.5k with relative ease and minimal delusion, since I know two people that have personally offered me 5k recently. If 3.5k is truly the limit I run into, it would make little sense to sell. At that point, it is not really making much difference in the purchase of a replacement truck. Maybe I will fish for a week or so, and then instead buy up maintenance parts to horde instead... (Message edited by ponti1 on May 20, 2015) |

Unfortunately, I will have to agree with Hybrid. Harley sold of Buell, EBR (again, unfortunately) has gone under and lets face it, Buells were not the popular choice for most and Harley put a lot of cheaper parts on these bikes. And, parts are not the easiest things to come by at a reasonable price. So, if you have an offer for 5K, jump on it. Good luck with your bike and the sale. I hope you get the price you are looking for. |

I just pickup a 2008 1125R last night for $4600, which included exhaust, ECM, CF parts, LED tail light, Smoke windshield, oil change kit, and all the stock parts. It was in immaculate condition too. Plus the weeping clutch was already fixed. |

Or hang on to it for a few decades and they might get some value then |

The fact is, Buell/EBR bikes are a niche bike. They are the best handling bike out there. XB9's are currently selling for $4K+, so you know what your bike is worth. These aren't investment bikes but, as time goes on, the price for one will stabilize/rise. And it won't take too long for you to see that happen, mainly because of the low volume built. I'm of the opinion that there will not be any widespread parts issues going forward. If a rider bases the closure of two business as a reason to sell their bike(s), they may be on the outside looking in!

I bought my 1125r for 4300$ with 7068 miles on it. 37k miles is alot. It's mabey worth 3500 if it looks really well kept. |

There's a guy near me selling his 09 with the rare hard to get fairings for $5000, with less mileage |

I paid 6,000 for mine with less than 1k miles and the side fairings with a D and D pipe. two years ago. I feel the same as others 3500-4000 at tops. |

I traded my 2004 XB12s with 14,000 miles for my 2009 1125CR with 3400 miles. XB's seem to be a bit more in demand. Tbh I kinda wish I still had it. |

Comparing a 1125R with a XB is interesting. They both handle well, bit completely different leagues. Fun highlights... Example: A XB will never touch 100mph at second gear redline.Example: A XB will never hit 150mph. Example: A XB will never run with a 600cc supersport if straight lines are in the mix. I could be very happy with a XB, and not knocking them. But, they are nowhere close to the same. |

Yep, I wasn't comparing them. I just wish I had mine still. I didnt want to sell it until the guy said he'd trade even up for his 1125cr and I was all over that deal. I immediately got the title before he could back-peddle. Anyway, I was just trying to illustrate that 1125s arent really holding value all that well. Especially when people are trading XBs even up. I also think XBs are increasing in value. Who wants to pay $5000 + for a 6 year old bike right now when you can get a new SX for $9000 or maybe even cheaper? I dont like it either because I'm in the same boat. (Message edited by figorvonbuellingham on May 28, 2015) (Message edited by figorvonbuellingham on May 28, 2015) |

You will be hard pressed to get 5k. Sell the goodies and make your money there. Almost 99 percent of people will pass on the miles unfortunately. I was hard pressed to get rid of mine with 32k. I even had it at 2200 on eBay. Traded it off. Was a great bike when sold. I fixed all the bs on her. |

Thats how I got $5000 out of my first 1125cr. I traded it for a BMW S1000rr. I was surprised they allowed that much. They really wanted to sell a bike I guess. |

I paid $3500 for an 08 with 14,000 miles and in excellent shape, so I would agree, 3500 - 4000 would be about right. |
