In thinking about what is going on with EBR lately, I want to start to reverse engineer as many of the parts as I can for my 1125R. I have Siemens NX 3-D modeling software. I can import/export parasolid.txt files, IGUS, SolidWorks, ACAD Inventor and STeP files. What I need is old/broken parts to get measurements from. I have a spare engine that I will be doing this with as I rebuild it. If any one has any old parts like cracked heads or cylinders etc., etc. I would be interested in them for this purpose. I need to cut up a head and the cylinders to examine and measure the water jackets and port wall thicknesses. I don't want to spend a lot of money doing this and would be willing to pass on the acquired measurements/models. I will have enough money in this with my time as it is, but the info/models will be a big step if we ever have to start sourcing parts elsewhere. Thanks for reading. John |

What's going on with EBR is that either Erik hired incompetent business analysts that steered his company into the ground, or he himself made promises that didn't pan out. Regardless his finances pulled out and he had to file for a kind of bankruptcy Good idea though, I am wondering what will happen to us in 5-10 years when parts become scarce. |

Logix, nice to see you posting around this forum too. Great idea. I am local and more than willing to help. I Use cad and Autodesk programs on the regular. I have access to just about anything we would need. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. -Goose |

A lot of it will be watching the forums and I am going to contact pinwall cycles. They get a lot of 1125 parts. From some of their ads, looks like they buy some insurance sell offs. Maybe they will give me a discount on the un-serviceable stuff. |

Once I get measurements, I can start cross-referencing parts from other manufactures (Like forks from a Duc or CBR RR). We will also have the info we need for engineering out other mods. |

John, I have been doing this for 4 years. I have enough parts now to built a complete 1125 end to end with spares in certain areas. I have standing open ended searches on eBay for Buell items. It has served me well. Pinwall has been a very good source for me. We need a wrecked 1190 to answer these unanswered questions. Don't re-invent the wheel, ask me first. This is a big effort.....we need to share! Steve PS Here are the dimensions of the 1125 cylinder. Please use these numbers as a comparison if you can measure an 1190 cylinder. Bore =103mm OD of bore measured across bolt holes inside water jacket = 117.7mm and 119.4mm OD of cylinder that resides in engine case = 112mm |

cool Steve, I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought of this. have you sectioned any heads yet? Are you making any 3-D models? If so what software are you using? I have been searching the internet every so often watching for insurance buyouts on the 1190. I have an ulterior motive in this. I love my 1125R and its looks. The 1190 is to flat and angular aesthetically for my tastes. I like the 1125's complex curves. I want an 1190 with the 1125 bodywork, yes lobster claws and all. |
