The story goes something like this. Did a coolant flush and added the Harley coolant mixture, didn't have a spare copper crush washer so I fitted the old one on and rode it for a couple of days. I got the new crush washers and had a friend hold the bike tipped over a bit so I didn't lose much coolant, replaced the crush washer and torqued it back up. Removed the right pod and added a little coolant to the over flow tank to replace what I lost (a little over 5%) just past the cold full line. Turn the bike on and and now I'm getting a check engine and the left and right fans aren't kicking on, coolant temp rose above 220 degrees. Any ideas? |

There might be air in your system, dont take my word for it km not 100% sure. I know if the air does not get purged from the system it will cause heat issues, I had issues with my first car after changing the coolant and it was due to air in the system. This still doesn't explain why your fans are not turning on. Have you checked your connections and fuses? Also during your first couple days of riding did the fans actually kick in? |

Everything ran fine, i had to purge the green coolant out from the system and replace with HD coolant. During the week that i was without the crush washer it was running fine. Tracked the issue of the fans down to a blown fuse, something caused the fans to draw extra power because i had a low battery after restarting and then the check engine light came on. |

Well damn. I replaced the fuse, and the check engine light is gone. Fired it up and waited until the coolant temp reached 170.. Nothing. Waited until it reached 180 still got no rotation from either fan, shut it off because I was worried about overheating. Under diag mode I'm getting two left fan errors one right fan error and a fuel pr error. At least one of the fans spin during power-down but only for about 5 seconds. |
