Hey Guys,

New to the 1125 family, so it seems I need new pads. On my Uly I always had the Lyndall golds (seemed to be the all around accepted by all favorite). What's the general favorite for the 1125?

Also, I notice a distinct (almost mechanical as in I can feel it) click when i grab a handful of break and also sometimes when I accelerate. Any thoughts on what it might be?

I like the DP pads for the street, EBC is also good, for the track sbs ds or Nissin 2015 compound pads.

EBC has a new version of their HH pads. They added an extra letter (or something like that) to the HH. I have a set in hand that I'm about to mount.

The clicking may be the bushings between the bolts and the front rotor need replacing.

Search the forum. There's been a few threads on it.

On the click that you feel, since you mentioned you feel it not only when you brake but when you accelerate too (and presumably you are not on the brakes when you are accelerating), it sounds awfully familiar to a concern I had with my 1125R.

The front Showa forks have some kind of split bushing design that makes a click, or even a pop sound. And the rider can feel the minor shock or vibration that accompanies the sound. Not all 1125s exhibit this trait. I talked to a motorcycle road race suspension tuner in Texas (forget who it was). In his opinion, about 1 out of 3 or 4 Buell 1125s will exhibit this click or pop noise if one pumps the forks up and down (holding the front brake to constrain the bike while you pump the forks). I listed this noise in my profile under problems with the bike:

Noisy front forks - darn split bushing design for fork sliders. (Thought it was the headstock bearings, but the noise is apparently from the forks.) Technically, there is nothing wrong with the forks; the noise is unfortunately a by-product of their design.

That clicking noise is common to worn out fork slider bearings on all fork brands, including my HD Road King. Try changing them for new parts. I believe the problem will disappear.

EBC Extreme performance EPFA HH ...... get these and do not think about the "standard" EBC HH ..... Best upgrade for the ZTL2 , for the best $$$..

I also have the "click" noise from the forks when braking hard..It happpens in the first instant of the "dive" of the forks.. It feels like there is something "loose" in the forks..... It seems that it is common for the 1125R, so I ignore it. It doesn't seem to affect the forks, so just forget about it .... It is just the way they work...

I thought it was loose steering head at first - but yeah, I get the occasional poppage too - even after multiple rebuilds.

I suspect the "pop" noise is just a by-product of the 1125R Showa fork design - this is also what the suspension tuner in Texas thought. My bike had the noise when I bought the bike from the HD/Buell dealer with 3K miles on it. The noise probably existed when the bike was new.

I get a similar pop noise under braking from the forks too. No issues so far.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. Looks like the EBC's it is. And maybe a couple of things to check on the poppage... I'm probably being too anal about it but it drives me crazy.

EPFAs ....Mainly for spirited riding in roads with many corners , and some trackdays, but they work OK around town too.... EPFAs solved the "brake fade" problem for the XB12-ZTL , and I have sticked to them ever since ... In all my bikes .... and there were major improvement in every single one of them, including the RS250 , 749 which are bikes famous for their strong OEM braking performance... the EPFAs made a major braking improvent in all of them ...

Maybe there are better pads out there ... I personally haven't found them yet ....
