So I seam to have ordered during the vortex period. I ordered the EBR oiling rotor the day they closed, along with an EBR ECM. I did so before the news hit the mainstream; but after the filing was done I believe. I wonder how my order will get processed? Will I be refunded or will they send me the parts still? I would obviously like the later because I need to get on the road! I wish the EBR crew the best. And I need to rent the tool from someone, need to get on that as soon as I know about the parts. |

To the best of my knowledge, there is nobody at EBR to even fulfil the order. I'd wait a few days for the dust to settle and see what is going on, but at present I don't believe anyone is even around to do a refund. You may need to do a chargeback on your credit card, but like I said wait a few days till we all know more. |

If you get your money back thru EBR I HIGHLY suggest going to 5-0dro. They are the best outlet working with Twin Motorcycles and make the ordering experience much easier and a pleasure to work with. I am glad I did. The machining of the rotors are first rate. 5-0dro advertises on this forum. Hope your dilemma with EBR workout. |

Illinoisbart, I know Twin motorcycles NL sells a modified rotor, and 5-0 dro sells the "kit" do you think I could order just the rotor from 5-0 dro as well? |

I ordered the kit, but as i understand it anything you can order on Twin Motorcycles you can order thru 5-dro. I would browse Twin Motorcycle website ( which is hard to navigate), then I would check the website 5-0dro and call him. He is very helpful. If you cannot get a hold of him he will call back usually that day if not sooner. I am telling you when dealing overseas ordering from twin motorcycles, 5-0dro is the safe bet…..and does not necessarily cost you anymore…..and yes….i think you can just get the rotor. He done me right. Funny dealing with the Netherlands for an American product. At least we have this avenue. |

Yeah I placed an order with EBR about an hour before the news broke too...I am doubtful it will get fulfilled. Luckily I order with Paypal and can get them to refund if need be. |

Re…read your question. I am not for sure, he probably has to order thru Twin Motorcycles as well… and may not have any on hand because of the rotor exchange with Twin motorcycle. Still..he is the safety net and it does take time to receive your order. He explains the procedure and is the "go between" without a heavy fee…. |

Since you very likely paid with a credit card, I suggest you file a dispute with the credit card company. Explain the situation, and they'll credit your account, assuming you've actually been charged for the part. Some places do not charge until they ship. |

Someone on this forum just drilled a bunch of holes in their rotor. I wonder how that held up? |

Hildstrom did the drilling. He had 7000 miles on the modded rotor when he sold it. Here is a link to his site. http://hildstrom.com/projects/buellstator/#after7k miles |

Does anyone have a close up of the improved rotor from EBR? I'm wondering how difficult it would be to modify the rotor I have. What do they mean by oil jets? Hildstrom measured stator temps after modification. From what I was reading, the six holes did the job. This approach sounds better than pulling my rotor, shipping it to The Netherlands and waiting for it to return. No offense to TWIN Motorcycles, but machinists can be hired for less than $265.00($233EU) plus shipping and import taxes. |

T_dude...you live in the midwest ...land of machine shops and machinists...go here: some pix and drawings...a shop with a EDM machine should be able to "fix" your rotor...seek out (search) the correct info on installation of the rotor once modified (torque and loctite spec.s) hope this helps... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/723045.html?1385260742 |
