Thanks for the feedback stirz007. Do you just go with the standard 11.3mm stems that they offer for every other sport bike? |

I'm also curious as to which ones work. Buell wheels are quite a bit thicker and have a raised shoulder, making most aftermarket stems not work, as demonstrated by this image from an old post:

Not currently on either my '05XB or 1125 (same wheels). A fellow club racer had them on his (I just thought 'I need those' at the time) so I figured "plug and play" - I'll try and find out whether they were 11.3 or 8.3 and if he counterbored the wheel - could just call Kurvygirl I guess. I'd planned to look at mounting them over the winter, so good comments.... Frog - is that drawing to scale? |

8.3MM is the correct size for the stem width from what I've read, the problem is that it is not long enough to make it all the way through. It wasn't my drawing, so I don't know if it is to scale, but my experience with two difference valve stems was one didn't have deep enough threading to make it all the way through the wheel (another badwebber had his wheels machined out to get it to work). Another one I tried that had a 90 degree bend, it requires inserting from the inside of the wheel facing out, and I couldn't get it to come even remotely close to making it around the bend in the stem due to the thick shoulder. Here is the post I got the pic from, also info about getting the wheel milled. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=32777&post=899372#POST899372 |

I had a set given to me and did not fit the 1125R wheels due to that raised shoulder. |
