I have a 2009 1125cr with Barker exhaust and EBR ECM to suit. Have been noticing lately that when I switch the bike off after a ride in warm temps and engine at normal operating temp I noticed now the cooling fans rev up and down for the entire minute of shutdown. They used to just stay on full speed for the minute after shutdown. Is this something to be concerned about or is it something that is about to fail. Volts on charging is 14.3 and battery shows 12.5 <any help would be appreciated Cheers from Australia |

Fan speed change is an indication of changing drive voltage. With engine off, any speed change will likely point to a poor connection along the power feed line. This would include possibly burned contacts on a relay. Put a VOM across the fan power wires and monitor to be certain. |

Fan speed is dependent on the ECM and coolant temp. |

As it turns out my fans are on their way out so I am replacing both of them . The bike has done 47000kms so I suppose its not a bad effort considering the amount of time they do run? Cheers |
