Well, it's been a little while since I've updated on what I've been up to. So, here's what I did. I saw the thread on the HID install on Advanguard's R. So I decided to install a projector on my CR. The chrome was pretty much gone around the light, so it was a no brainer. Disassembly was almost exactly the same as the video Advanguard posted. Here are my photos!     | ||

 This is a daytime shot of just the low beam. I've got the angle almost perfect. I forgot to take pictures of the 528T timer I installed with ~20 second delay running through a 40A relay. The timer is rated at 15A, but the 55 watt ballast draws about 18 amps. So, I figured, better safe than sorry. Also, this is the Bi-Xenon, so there's a shutter that drops down when you hit the high beams. It's pretty badass. I'll take some night pictures this evening.  | ||

My wife hates it. She said it needs to be even, with another projector on the high beam side. (She can be a little OCD sometimes.) I think it looks wicked cool. I've always loved the asymmetrical look. I got it off Fleabay for $35. It didn't come with a ballast, but I had a couple spares since I pulled the ones from my truck. The dual projector was $55, and the single cost $35. 04colly, for legal aspects, I would check into the laws concerning that proposed headlight setup. I know that Commifornia law says only 2 low beam and two high beams. Not too sure about having all four. (Personally, I think it would look cool as hell.) | ||

I'll be just fine with all 4 turned on running as low beams. But look out when all 4 turn to high beams lol. Take that projector out and order a set of mini H1 6.0 from www.theretrofitsource.com | ||

That looks very cool indeed. I'm thinking of doing the same on my R's low beams. Not sure how I would fit all the extra wiring and ballast. Yes Theretrofitsource.com looks to have really high quality Morimoto HID equipment designed for motorcycle fitment. | ||

Night shots!!   High beam! Side note: This is the HID low with the shade up and the halogen 55w high beam. And it was raining, so it's not as clear as it would be normally.  edit: 04colly, that was what I wanted, but it wasn't in the budget. lol (Message edited by dhays1775 on November 01, 2014) | ||

Dhays, thanks for the props, if you put another projector on you can try to adjust the legs of the lens, closer will give you a wider beam, but less throw. FYI: I have the delay starts soon to go in, but this will spare your HID bulbs from burning out, HID don't like to turn on, then the bike starts, shutting them off then back on again, already burnt one out waiting for my delays to arrive. |
