Here's one of my stupid, none performance adding modification to my 1125R. LED taillights and license plate frame on a Jardine fender eliminator. Notice the stock turn signals for visibility and the legality of maintaining a lighted license plate. https://www.flickr.com/photos/36653239@N08/1499223 4144/in/photostream/lightbox/ |

"I apologize greatly for adding a extra l In the word marshal,. . ." You are not in the U.S. Marshals Service. |

quote:But I am just human, and we all make spelling mistakes at times.
You also misspelled it in your profile as well. I don't know much about LEO, but I do know most of them are anal and maybe I am getting old and don't identify with the 20-somethings anymore, but if you were a US Marshal, I believe you would spell it correctly. Plus, I find it hard to believe a US Marshal would have such a sticker fixation. That's a joke, sortof. |

quote:And if you are going off of my primary role, then the majority of police officers opinions don't matter either, being half the deputies in a sheriffs department aren't on the road as traffic officers.
At least here in Cali, the Sheriff doesn't do ANY traffic enforcement...at least that I am aware of. Out in the sticks, its your friendly neighborhood Chipper. Perhaps it's different in other areas of the country. And there's no way you can make a blanket statement about what mods will get you closer attention from a LEO. They are individuals that have the power to stop you or let you go on your way. I do believe a loud bike with stickers will get you more attention from anyone, LEO or not. The LEOs that give any positive attention to bikes are few and far between. |

quote:As for the blinkers, that is more of a mater of opinion, being that motorcycles are inherently dangerous, I find that the difference of how bright my blinkers are doesn't significantly increase my safety.
Now I see how people justify riding without gear. |

Mr.fresnobuell- In the case of adding a extra l to marshal I have always done that by accident since the first time I wrote it. Everybody has at least one word they always misspelled. I don't know much about California but, at least on the east coast, the sherries department has a much larger number of deputies than the city police. Here in Columbia the department has over 700 uniformed deputies and 170 civilian workers, and these deputies handle almost all of the civil and criminal crimes in Columbia. As for your statement about LEO's being individuals, you are completely correct and I was going off of my co workers and people I knew when I was a deputy for Richland county. Most of the deputies were motorcycle fans. I am not sure about the bike scene in California, but here there are a lot of people running drugs on gsxr's, and as much of a stereotype as it is, you see nothing but drug runners on gixxers. The majority of the time a rider regardless of color on any sportbike other than a gsxr will ride normally and like a sane person, whilst every time I see a gixxer I assume that individual is doing something illegal. I have this opinion because of the shear amount of times there was a arrest because a gsxr rider was making a drug run, and tried to flee. Yes there are riders on Harley's, even rebel 250's, but the majority of officers that now motorcycles will pay you almost no mind unless you are on a gixxer. |
