I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 1125r after a crash and I currently have the frame off, I was curious about stripping the powder coating off and just having polished aluminum. I saw the 1125rr had a polished aluminum frame, is there any adverse affects from not having the powder coating? If there isn't a issue I will remove the paint from the main frame and Swingarm. Thanks-keith |

Just clear powder coat it after its polished. That way its properly protected. |

I was told by a professional a few years back that clear powder coat will yellow over time due to UV exposure, just my 2 cents. |

I had a set of rims done a few years back and no problems. I still see the bike every now and then and it still looks good |

Second hand information alert…. but I was told once upon a time that you can not power coat the frame without damaging the liner inside the frame…. not sure why… just passing it along. |

You can, you just have to bake it at a lower heat. Cerakote can be put on plastic and it's still powder coating. |
