I've been contributing to and learning from this board for a few years now. I should probably know the answer to this, but I don't. Searching has not provided the answers I need. I am considering selling my 1125R race ECM. I am not sure if it is compatible with another 1125R, as it is synced with my own. I do not want to cause problems for anyone. I am also concerned about my old OEM ECM working properly when put it back in. It has been on the shelf in the garage for many miles and many years. It does have the latest flash. I do not want to screw up the odometer readings of my Buell or someone else's. I am trying to sell my 1125, and I am considering putting it all back to original stock OEM condition and selling the performance tidbits separately. Will my race ECM sync up properly with someone else's 1125R? Will my original OEM ECM sync up with mine? I know it will run, but if it is going to show the wrong mileage, I will probably not swap. | ||

It won't show your mileage on another persons bike. You should be fine. You tired of the Buell? (Message edited by MAtteson on August 31, 2014) | ||

I'm not tired of my 1125R. It's a very well sorted Buell. I got an 1190RX. I don't have room or time for two motorcycles. It seems I cannot sell my 1125R for what I want for it, so the thought crossed my mind to put it back to stock and sell it cheap. I could try to recoup some of my money selling the performance items separately. I'm not trying to start a for sale thread here. My 08 1125R has been in the for sale section on Badweb and DFW Craigslist for a few months with no serious offers. | ||

Good info. I know this isn't a for sale thread but I would be interested in the ECM, provided I would be able to get it reprogrammed for my specific bike. | ||

Thanks guys. If I do decide to sell parts, I will list them in the badweb classifieds. It's a real shame to dismantle a nice 1125R, but I have had nothing but tire kickers, offers to trade for junk, and one cash offer for $2500.00. I have a friend who wanted the performance parts when I first decided to sell, and I refused to remove them. I guess he gets first dibs if I do this. | ||

Sorry, Stirz. Mine is belt drive, and I still have not decided for sure what I'm going to do with my 1125R. I have a track day scheduled soon. I will probably go make some noise with it, and put a for sale sign on my canopy. I haven't advertised it to the track day crowd. |
