so today I am going down the highway and my front tire blew on me, the tred hit my drummer exhaust and destroyed the canister. I'm not sure how I kept the bike upright but I did. what is the best tire's for the 1125 and what is the best exhaust for performance? |

like asking what's the best music... What kind of riding do you do? Keda makes some nice exhausts. Check out the shootout on American Sport Bike and pick the one you like. Do you have an EBR ECM for the drummer? Getting it remapped/re-programmed for another exhaust or get another drummer? I just got a set of Dunlop Q3's for summer riding, but not mounted yet. Supposed to be really good (were on sale for good discount). I have PR3's currently and they are great up here in the PNW/Rain. |

I really like the Dunlop Q3's. Very sticky high performance tire But any major brand should be good. Finding on that matches your riding style is the key |

I ride very spiritedly so I was looking at the diablo supercorsa tires. I don't ride my 1125r daily I use my recently acquired "bought it a week ago" drz 400sm for commuting and bad weather riding. or are the supercorsa tires to slick for street use? |

Supercorsa is supposed to be great. Q3 are supposed to be great as well. You really can't go wrong with any of the premium tires like this. Mileage vs performance... no surprise there. There was a comparison a couple years ago that put the Supercorsa's and Q3's as neck in neck. price between the two is a pretty big difference. I think my set of Q3's were around 200 for the set. I think you will nearly pay that for the rear supercorsa. spirited riding the supercorsa are not too slick. GL! |

Dean Adams Design for a good quality made pipe that will perform as well with the matching race ecm imo. Wouldn't call it a budget pipe but it's not expensive. And looks great and sounds even better. |

^ $585 shipped, made over 143 hp on EBR's dyno. Pretty sure it was about 5 more than any other done there on their bike except the full race exhaust by them. |

Barkers is the best bang for the $$ at $395. In the OG exhaust test the Barkers was only 2 hp behind and had the same torque. |

Drummer was almost the same as dean's… I thought so anyway. Might be worth talking to to those folks (kd fab) and see if they can fix your pipe?.. new that thing is like 1000.00 |

The Drummer they used in the shootout was different than the one they sell. Barkers is ugly out front. I just bought an rt3 and my pipe is slick man. It hugs the motor and I bent the bracket to really tuck it up. Im really happy with the product and so is everyone else out there that owns one. Cash in your kids savings bonds and do your neighbors a favor. Get the rt3. |

Your best Ally in keeping any Buell on the road is American Sport Bike. Nobody on this site will argue this. The American Sport Bike Exhaust Shootout! Enjoy! http://www.americansportbike.com/Exhaust_Shootout. html |

Barker's plus EBR ECM is the ticket IMHO. As far as the tires, this is a very subjective subject. I always like the Bridgestone BT-016s, but I ride the Dunlop Q3s now. The biggest difference I see with difference brands is not really the grip (they all are super sticky when heated up) but the profiles. The Dunlops no doubt are more "pointy" than the Brigestones which promote a quicker turn in and you don't run out of tire s quickly so I am guessing it will allow higher lean angles. The 'Stones are more blunt which allow for a more controlled turn in and I am guessin more stability when leaned over. If I don't run into any more Dunlop rebate coupons, I will return to Bridgestone for my next set. that's my take on the only brands I have experience with. |

PS--DOn't go buy race takeoffs or DOT race tires (you seem them for sale at the AMA races all the time in the paddock,) as those need alot of heat to work. Those would be too slick for the street. |

Matteson - Agreed, the Drummer is a bit "agricultural" looking. RT-3 is ordered. I'd be interested in pics of your install when completed as I was hoping to tuck mine up as best I could as well. Any info on how and where you did the bending would be a help as well. Dannybuell - Agreed about American Sport Bike! They are always my preferred vendor and get most of my money |

EBR hit 143 on their bike and dyno, my personal bike made 139-140 (started at 122 stock) so results will vary. It's good for at least a 15+ hp gain on average over stock though. |

For the 1125? Yes, I built a couple of them. Haven't done one for the 1190 yet, not sure if I will. The rear header is HUGE, the front, not so much. |

Incoming thread jack. Sort of. Just didn't want to make a new thread about tires and this one already concerns those rubber thingys we stick on our rims. I've been running q3's this last part of the season. 3 sets of q3's actually. Getting about 15-2000 miles out of a set. Seriously awesome tire. Performs and feels exactly how I want my tires to. Except for that whole wearing down business. Also ran a set of pp3's early this season which lasted considerably longer than the q3's but I was not caring for the way they behaved or handled input. I specifically am looking for something that can give me a good compromise of mileage to performance. I don't have the pockets change to put another set of dunlops on the bike every few weeks. I am leaning heavily towards pirelli angel gt's. But I have never ridden on a set of them before. Assuming they have a much tamer profile than the dunlops. And also softer sidewalks. Which is one thing I REALLY appreciate about the q3's is the rock solid feedback it gives. But anyways. My question is what tires are you guys using and why specifically are you using them/ why do you like them/ why do you not like them? And as for exhaust, a month or so ago after spending some quality time with a friend with d_adams's old 1125 with the full exhaust on it, I have come to appreciate his craftsmanship and his product. It does not and will not disappoint. I however am running a modified stock exhaust done by Mr.Hawkins and I could not be happier. That being said I think the hmf and jardine slip ons are absolutely disgusting to behold. But it's not really about how it looks though is it. |
