Hi I have a buell 1125r been in the shop for a month now. They changed the sprague clutch out but has a knock now and they have no idea what it is, I'm trying to reach out to find someone who might or even call them to maybe lend them a hand. They are getting frustrated as well and I wiuld like to have my bike back without any other problems. If you think someone can help let me know and I'll give you the info of who and where my bike is. Thanks |

Mitzu Hero at Bartels HD in CA is the best 1125R mechanic that I know of. Unfortunately, he is being forced to go back to Japan early next month. |

Yeah, it's an immigration thing because he got injured and missed a bunch of work. Sucks. I hope he will be back. He's the best. |

This may sounds silly, but is the oil properly serviced? These engines, or at least mine, make a lot more noise if it is low on oil. |

CLeaned out the oil screen? The chain guides breakdown and can plug the oil screen. |

Guys not sure what they did or doing to me they are guessing and doing everything else. I was told they were looking at the water pump next so thats the reason I asked for a mechanic who works for harley who could call these guys and talk to them. |

Maybe try New Castle Harley? They are very knowledgeable in Buell. They even used to race Buell, and I have had no problems with their service. |

Posts like this make me want to scream. I would never let a Harley mechanic touch my Buell. I've had my sprague clutch out. I retorqued my rotor. I upgraded to a 2010 water pump. I've adjusted my valves. I've upgraded my clutch slave cylinder. I've replaced wheel bearings and brakes. I have found nothing on my Buell I could not service myself. I am self taught by reading books, watching videos, and asking for help, ever since I was a teenager. I am always glad to help local Buell owners with service items. I've helped with more Buells than I can count. I can't believe they are pulling the motor 'cause they couldn't change a sprague clutch properly. |

Agreed jolly. I couldn't afford to own a bike if I didn't do all my own stuff. Everything on your list cept the water pump I've done on my own too. You should be mad and throwing a fit. But, you left this up to them remember? So know you must pay the price. That was not supposed to be harsh bro. Just the truth. |

Didi they put the spacer back in? Not a lot can really go wrong here. Sprag goes in housing. Housing on back of rotor. Slide that onto crankshaft and tighten 6 bolts. Pull it off now and wiggle the free wheel into the sprag then slide everything onto crankshaft. Tighten rotor nut. Install spacer on top balancer gear. Done. |

trust me guys I would of love to work on my bike but when I took the cover off and seen all the gears and other stuff I knew I was in over my head. I can do simple stuff but inside motor stuff I personaly get intimidated easly. now if I had someone with me to help then I would of done it at home but I'm the only buell guy in my town. and for the spacer goes I have no idea they won't talk to me anymore cause I bitched to Harleys corperate office about them. |

Larry, if you were a bit closer, we'd have that Buell fixed in no time. They are not difficult to work on. It might seem intimidating, but it is simply the lack of experience causing anxiety. Once you go through a repair and see how easy it really is, it becomes less stressful to attempt the next. Another benefit of doing it yourself is the ability to take your time and make sure it is right. Those Harley mechanics are under the gun to get it done quickly. Of course, I am 46 years old, and have been wrenching on cars and motorcycles since I was a teenager. I did have my fair share of costly mistakes when I started learning. |

I replaced my sprague clutch when I started finding metal in oil and hard starting like a weak battery there is nothing hard about it and I have never have sean one before. Just a service manual. I hope not but I see big $$$ you know they want to lose that much money I cant see how a water pump would knock leak oil or water yes. Hope its not a rod bearing are you sure they have enough oil in the engine |
