Has anyone experienced a slight left foot peg vibration after changing the drive belt? It's more pronounced as the bike slows down, say 30mph or less. Having the clutch pulled in or not doesn't seem to make a difference, the slight vibrations is still there. |

I would check your drive pulleys for excessive runout. |

I just installed a new drive belt. The idler pulley is attached to that foot peg. You may just be feeling the extra vibrations due to the new belt tightness. The pulleys on my bike had a lot of stuff embedded at the bottom of the teeth. I spent a lot of time with a wire brush and plastic knives removing the stuff. The belt will fit better and may reduce vibration and tightness. |

Thanks guys. I'll have a look at the belt and the pulley this weekend. |

I've had a left side vibration for a while now that I can't figure out (haven't been trying very hard ). Luckily it has not been getting worse. It took me a while to move in the right way to test this, but what I eventually concluded is that the vibration isn't actually transferred through the peg. I'm getting the vibration through my left knee on the frame. I'd lift my foot off the peg and it would go away (because I stopped squeezing the frame, not because of what my foot was doing). If I press my leg against the frame without my foot on the peg, I feel it again, and now know that it's not the peg at all. Any chance you're feeling the same thing? |

Jimustanguitar: Honestly I'm not sure. I'll take it for a spin this weekend when I'm back home and try a few different riding positions. However, be it frame or peg, I didn't feel it before so it must somehow be related to the installation of the new belt. |

new belts are very tight... 1)watch your rear wheel bearings especially on the pulley side. 2)if you can put it up on a rear stand and see if the new belt is rubbing anywhere on the belt covers...in the early days, I and many others would "relieve" some of the plastic ribs on the inside of the covers that came close to the belt...HTH |

Took it for a ride this morning and the only vibration is from the foot peg. I didn't notice anything coming through the frame. Had the local Buell mechanic ride it and he noticed it too. After putting the bike up and checking out the pulley bearings, rear wheel bearings, belt tightness, etc., he told me it was probably the belt is very tight. Fit the explanation you guys gave! I'll keep an eye on things and see if the vibration goes away as the belt gets broken in. As an added bonus, I finally had the HD harness fully removed. Woo Whoooooo! No more battery light at traffic lights! As always, thanks for the help everyone! |

If you think your belt is tight then correct it as soon as possible! They do not really stretch much on break-in. Loose is better than tight. You would not believe how loose you can run it without issues. Too tight and you will have both belt and bearing issues! (Message edited by MitchG on August 23, 2014) |

then correct it as soon as possible Any pointers on how to do this on a non-adjustable setup? |
