Hi folks, My front forks make some noise (clicks, not clocks from direction bushings, they are new) when they are hard compressed, so I think the inner bushings are in bad state due to use time (50.000km). Well so our shock absorbers are SHOWA right? but which model? My bike is a 2010 1125CR. THanks | ||

Keep in mind this is from a 2008 1125r Parts Catalog... Page 67 calls out the Front Fork assembly as Left fork...Part #J0121.1AMA and Right fork...Part #J0122.1AMA If you require rebuilding, you may want to send them to RaceTech or have a local knowledgeable tech do them. http://www.racetech.com/ They may even have a gold valve kit for this model Showa fork. | ||

At 50k, they're due for a rebuild and well worth the money (about $200US). Racetech does offer a gold valve kit if you want that upgrade (another $200-300, which is relatively cheap): http://racetech.com/ProductSearch/2/Buell/1125R/20 08-09 Edit: If you do decide to have someone else do the rebuild, be sure to NOT use shops that specialize in dirt bikes - they will likely come back not to your liking. Use a shop that specializes in street/race bikes. (FWIW) Uncompensated plug: I just got my rear back from Racetech and the suspension settings were almost spot-on to what they were before I sent it to them. I've rebuilt a few sets of buell xb forks and dirt bike set most recently. The buell forks have more parts, but neither are all that difficult. I'd say that if you are the type of person who changes their own oil and filter, go ahead and rebuild your own forks IAW the service manual. You can even use a section of PVC pipe/coupler as a fork seal driver and a ratchet strap for a spring compressor if you wanna keep it on the cheap. | ||

Of course I'm speaking in reference to 'FRONT' forks and 'FRONT' forks, only.  I have little to no experience with 'REAR' forks or anything of that sort. ie; 'front' : swingarms, drive belts, tail lights and passenger pillions, or 'rear' : head lights, handlebars, horns and flyscreens | ||

With 50k km I changed oil and seals two times, but never fully rebuilded. As I said the problem I think is in the top guide bushings. http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=4834 I tried to remove them, but seems a specialized tool is needed to remove.
