It's probably your cluster software. There was an updated cluster for it, but out of warranty leads to no cheap fix. |

Mine does that too...the only way to cure that is replacing the fuel pump. |

Mine does that too on startup but only when it's getting low on fuel and the light goes out when riding away. It probably only does this when starting the bike on the sidestand because the fuel sensor is not immersed in enough fuel with the bike leaned over. Try starting it with you on the bike & the bike vertical to see if the symptom does not happen. If so, then it's nothing to worry about. |

Mine does this while riding even with a full tank. I know there are several guys on here who have had the same problem. I believe there is a fix for it that does not involve changing out the pump. |

The fuel pump? Is there no sensor for the fuel? My old Yamaha have something for the fuel level inside the tank ? I never start my bike on sidestand. It is not doing it with full tank but Can do it from 3/4 and Down Many times.. Before the fuel light actully stays on |

Mine does it too but with a check engine light I just ignore it and ride and clock my miles for fuel up |

Well, per the manual you are suppose to replace the pump because they do not sell a replacement sensor. I looked into the sensor and found it to be the same spec as the XB one which is replaceable. You just have to do some minor wiring. If you do a search you should find the thread I made with pictures. |

Mine does that too...the only way to cure that is replacing the fuel pump err NO, Call Al at American Sport Bike, he can get the correct sensor that is part of the pump assembly, getting the pump out is a bit of work but not horrendous, BE-FORE you do all of that check the resistance of the sender at various temps the cluster may be the issue. YMMV } |

I had all the updates for the cluster and new one and always did that but now it just comes on and goes off randomly. I ignore it and just go by my trip for fuel fill ups figured it wasn't worth the hassle to fix. |

The sensors drift over time and start acting weird like that. It will come on in cold weather no matter how much fuel is in the tank, and then get progressively worse. Someone a while ago wrote up a system using a few variable resistors to tune the resistance seen by the ECU. I had a fuel pump replaced under warranty for the issue, and it fixed it for a while, but I just reset the miles when I fill up and use that for fuel levels. |

Mine does that occasionally. I agree with it being a side stand cold start thing. It only does it on the first start of the day. It usually shuts off by the end of the road I live on. If I am physically driving down the road and the light comes on, I know its time for fuel. Other than that, I don't let it bother me. |

Syonyk That would be Zac for Mac did that 1313 and I changed his sensor out on his CR AFAIK no issues since the Pita as I said before is you remove the swing arm and rear wheel to get the pump out... |
