Hi all, Got myself a spooky hickup on my 1125r. Got a barker exhaust and the matching ecm from ebr. There is withing the few first 100 meter a hickup, seems like ignition shuts down for half a second. Also only when cold, below 4000 rpm with constant bspeed there is some backfire, you can feel the bike hasitate. When warm the backfire is gone. But the hickup stays. Did teh tpy reset with cold engine, installing the ecm according to instruction. Gasmilage is average about 1.85 gallons to 62 miles. Anybody any suggestions about what to do to get rid of the hickup? Contacted ebr and they are not sure, maybe anyone here had some problem like this, Regards, Archy | ||

Archy, my own 1125R with my own custom exhaust, K&N filter and race ECM, tuned specifically to my pipe dimensions from Buell by Michael Richter, has pretty much acted the same way below about 60 degrees so I fire it, let it warm up until coolant temps. reach 150 degrees before heading off. Never a problem doing just that. I do the same even if temps. are 80+ when I first fire it up. Seems like the 1125's are somewhat cold blooded when first fired even if they run hot in traffic or when commuting. I got a chance to talk to Michael Tejon, their chief engine mechanic at the time, at Millers one day and posed this question to him. He agreed and said they always fire their race bikes, bring them up to temperature, shut them down and let them "heat sink", his words, just before a race. Good enough for me. My bike has run in all rpm's flawlessly since adding those engine mods. doing what I said. I also heat it with a small space heater for 1/2 hour in the cold winter time temps. before even firing it.
