Caught this on the quick board. Looks like someone who knows this guy personally posted for us here at badweb really sad news.. this guy was a frequent poster and big time buell supporter here and on other forums. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/prince-w illiam-county-police-investigate-fatal-motorcycle- crash-in-nokesville-near-aden-road/2014/08/05/1115 c858-1c9d-11e4-ab7b-696c295ddfd1_story.html R.I.P. |

Awww man. I hate to hear that. Do we know if it was another car or anything? Or how to get a hold of the family? Chris. |

Sir Wadsalot, ride safe brother. You will be missed. My heart goes out to his family. And I'm truly sorry for their loss. As for the accident, having been in quite a few near misses, I seriously find it difficult to believe that the truck ACTUALLY had the right of way. The driver can say he stopped. The only other person who could prove him wrong is no longer able to tell us what happened. The officers may be 100% right, and I may be 100% wrong. But my PERSONAL experience is that the cagers don't look, don't see (there's a difference), or don't care. And I'm sorry if this comes across as being snarky, but I've known more riders taken out by others than by themselves. To the rest of us, please ride safe. |

A post of his back in July of 2013 on XB's, 1125s, and Ulys... Coming from Japbike land (SV1000S), the XB's I rode....that power band is completely unusable for a sportbike, there's no overrev at all. The vibes were worse than my '96 Sportster with open header drag pipes. The SV was a tank...a fast tank...the XB felt like a fast tractor. It's just wierd, man. When I got off it I felt like I had been felt up by a bunch of smurfs and was half aroused. The drummer exhust may have had something to do with it....it did sound awesome though. They make more sense as a retro....awesome power and feel for that, but then way too technical. Wierd. My 1125 is smooth as a baby's bottom compared to the XB or the SV. I never see SV's or RC51's any more, in northern VA I honestly see more Ducatis than SV's, the '25 is definately a stand out. I get looks and compliments...questions about the fans...all the time. With the traffic here it gets sooooo hot....the little plastic panel by the exhaust warped up & melted....I've been squidding on 90+ days, but still, she don't like idling at lights. There's a guy at work here has a brand new 848 Ducati Corsa, uber sexy- but he can't even ride it in 90+ weather, it cooks his butt... I've always defended the "HD" Buells in Japbike land, even though I couldn't bring myself to buy one. I wasn't being negative about the XB, just my initial impression. Now that I understand what I'm looking at a little better, I'm developing a fetish for the older Buells. I think a straight XB is just too similar to the 1125...the same but slower? But then I see them at lights, with the clear airbox covers, tinted wind screens, and polished exhausts....all stuff I would think is tacky on a sportbike....and it makes me smile. But a Ully....I have a serious thing for a Ully right now as a sport tourer/commuter with luggage. I am dying to ride one! I think it would fantastic for two up touring at a moderate pace with my wee lass. I was at the Reston Town Center the other night and saw....an S1? Maybe it was a Cyclone. Sorry, I'm a Buelltard....but it had the underslung shock....the guy had pulled all the plastics off, it was bare framed with a little fly screen....geeezus it was sexy. I wanted to lick it. I wanted to hang around it and wait for the guy to come back and ask what it was, but my lady wouldn't let me. i was thinking "Why the hell can't HD build this bike as a badass sport/standard?" make it the new Sportster, or call it something different, but that would make a fantastic "traditional" standard to bring to market. So I guess I'm coming around. ....RIP, Sir W, we're gonna miss you |

Not snarky at all, in fact looking at the pictures I tend to agree. Four way stop? That bike looks like it got hit in the side by another vehicle traveling at speed. If Sir Wadsalot blew the stop sign fast enough to cause a fatal accident I would expect the front end to be destoyed. The front fender doesn't look like it's even broken. RIP Sir Wadsalot |
