Just buttoned up from my 12k service. Everything was well into spec and all good to go. I will do a full length post on it and the things that I learned during that process later.

But.

I have a minor oil leak at the oil filter cover. I am assuming I did not seat the filter correctly upon installation

So my question is, is it possible to remove the oil filter cover assembly WITHOUT draining the oil? Or am I just going to make a huge mess. Lol

lean it over (filter cover "up") the more you lean it ...the less of a mess you'll make ( it only has 3 qts in it)...I would put some newspaper/cardboard down
(I've successfully serviced my clutch using this method)
hope this helps

Use a plastic bag duct taped below the filter to catch the oil. After you get it back together, pour the oil back into the bike. I've done it a couple times!
