I got a lube question... Anyone ever heard of using Sta-Lube SYNTHETIC Brake & Caliper Grease to lube your chain...??? |

I use WD40 on the drive belt. But for reals, this is the 1125 forum. There is a general discussion forum on this website where you may have more luck. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/25/ 25.html?1392968422 |

Personally, I always used chain wax. It is better for the o-ring chains. I just like the less mess, unless you spray it on your swing arm or tire/rim what a PITA to clean. |

Chain wax is good if you don't live in dusty/dirty conditions. Great even. Yamalube chain lube is pretty good too. I had a friend who lived in the suburbs, with a Duc 998, it stays immaculately clean- he has never used anything but WD-40 on his chain. I lived down a gravel road, and ended up using the Yamalube. Chain Wax in the city, and WD-40 works great if you already have a nice, pretty chain that will never get dirty. You asking for a chain/swingarm conversion? |

I use WD-40 and a rag to clean, then that Teflon/Wax stuff in the rattle can to lube. It doesn't fling off, doesn't make a mess, and keeps the chain clean. Chains are a pain in the ass, if you ask me. Ultimately, they are the best total set of compromises on a sport bike, but they require a lot of attention. |
