OK guys,
I have an 09 1125R with 21k miles.
While doing some typical maintenance, I noticed oil blow by on my K&N air filter. I decided to dig a little deeper and noticed inside my intake, there is some oil on the walls.

What's the best way to clean the intake walls without harming my valves?
Thanks Mike

Buy some Star Tron Enzyme fuel treatment. Follow the directions on the bottle and pour it in the tank every fill up for a few tanks. Works great! It also cleans the deposits from the valves.

QuickShot from Amsoil.

1 bottle = $9.40

Good stuff...it works!

He's talking about what you can see behind the filter. I use a screwdriver with a rag to clean in there. Denatured alcohol works great for cleaning intakes and carbs.

Terrys1980. This sure sounds like the engIne, not just under the filter.

Spray throttle body/intake cleaner on a rag and wipe the throttle body clean.

Thanks for the answers!

Yes,the oil on the walls stop prior to the valves. I'm not sure if it affects anything at all, but I would like my intakes spotless. Maybe I'll use something with a rubber tip so I don't score my walls.
Thanks mike

Have you recently cleaned/recharged your filter? Over oiling K&N's has been a problem since they came into existence.
