Hi I'm considering selling my 1125R. I want to buy a SV650 race bike and can't justify having both. I bought the bike in 2010 with less than 3,000 miles on it now it has 23k I've always run AMSOIL and change it very often! list of goodies FMF slip on exhaust EBR FMF ECM Power Commander 5 dyno tuned at 140RWHP with results to prove by a reputable shop! OBERON slave cyl upgrade(clutch is effortless now) K&N air filter EBR Race rotor with upgraded mounting Hardware Revised Stator that I've had for 8,000 miles that works great Michelin Pilot Power 3's with 50% or greater tread LED all in one taillight W/ turn signals built in. Passenger pegs removed and fuel vent tube was rerouted rear stand spools License plate bracket removed as well! I've always said I would never sell this bike because I truly love it and IMO its the best bang for buck out there but MY new passion is on the track which means I need tracks bikes! Track the bike you have? Already paid for, it's a versatile weapon as it is. |

Unless I am reading the wrong ads out there for track bikes, you are going to get $4K into one pretty quickly unless you happen to find one that someone is unloading because they are getting out of it. If you buy, say a stock, used cbr 600, do the necessary upgrades (suspension, etc.) you are going to run way past that soon and have less bike at the end and you don't know it like you do yours. Just my .02 Larry |

I did track the Buell last year. I bought a 2006 R6 with a built motor, 25mm fork carts, Penske rear, bazzaz zfm traction control and quick shifter, two sets of plastics various other goodies.Im much faster on the 600. I got that bike for 6000. I now have a Daytona 675 as well. my plan was to sell the Daytona and the 1125r and buy a B bike to have as a back up. I'm just not sure the buell would be competitive in the Heavyweight twins class these days with RSV4's, RC8's, and Panigales out there roaming around. |

Yeah dude, the SV650 will be super cheap to maintain and tons of fun, but if I were you I would just track the 1125. I still have an SV1K hanging from an engine lift in a barn, FUN BIKE.....but most SV's have stock suspension, on the 650's it isn't adjustable, and to get one with upgraded boingers you'll spend every penny of 4 grand. Your '25 is already better in every concievable way.....except price of crash repairs. No SV650 will ever be as fast, and no SV1000 for what you're looking to pay, for that matter. Nor will they brake better without a trip to www.Brembo.com and another what, $2500.00 for some monos? Unless you're just scared of the maintenance costs, I would definately keep the 1125 for a track bike. It looks like you're already 3/4 of the way there with it anyhow. I was planning on getting about 7k combined from the 675 and the 1125R and buying a 2006-07 R6 Having it built the exact same way as my current R6 so I could have a perfect backup bike! The SV plans have sort of changed. I just decided I would rather focus on the most competitive class in racing which would be the 600 class! |
