Hey guys. I'm about 100 miles in on a new set of tires. The last set had a flat spot, and it's amazing how smooth the bike rolls into leans and corners and how effortless it is to steer. A few times, I've noticed that feeling like when you drive over a crack or a grate that makes your bike feel like the back end wiggles. I've noticed it a lot more than I used to (maybe once every 10 miles or so). Is that a result of the bike being more sensitive and in tune with the pavement, or should I be looking for problems? |

Check the rear axle torque, just to be sure. |

Check your tire pressures, over or under will dramatically impact feel |

Rear axle and swingarm pivot are both to torque. I can't get anything to wiggle when it's on the stand... Mechanically I haven't been able to find a smoking gun... |

Have you checked your suspension settings? Mine did something similar, but only one one particular dip/bump combo in the road. That's when I found out it was actually my rear wheel bearings. Although, resetting my suspension helped a LOT. |

ANY new tire will be more responsive than an old, worn out tire. Your bike is communicating with you. Listen to it, learn from it. |

Your bike is communicating that your rear rebound needs to be turned up a few clicks- probably you're feeling it jump up after the suspension compresses off the expansion joint or whatever. That's the shimmey, the shock isn't controlling the spring properly. Slow that process down a bit. Mine did that too, suspension setup is everything, and the book settings are soft. |

It will feel much more responsive. Sounds like that's what's happening |

check the pressure. 36 is pretty normal for street riding |

I know that feeling. Hated it with a passion. It was always a quick wobble like WHERE DID MY BIKE JUST GO...!!! |

I got the bike with a skunk stripe on the tires, and it's just never been this responsive before. I've always had standard bikes in the past, this is my first sporty, so I've been slowly learning that I put more pressure on the bars than I should be. I've been correcting my riding position and posture and notice that I don't feel the jiggle when I don't have any weight on the bars. New tires helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. |
