I recently, in the last week, started to experience a new behavior during cold starts. After starting it to let it warm up, the idle will start out normal, and then slowly drop until the bike dies. If I give it just enough throttle to maintain normal cold start warm up idle levels for 30 seconds or so and then let go of the throttle it will hold that idle until fully warmed up. It has an EBR ECM, EBR charging rotor, Rick's stator, denoided, new Shorai battery. Any ideas I should look for to troubleshoot? |

Try resetting the tps sensor. If I remember correctly, key on, switch on, rotate the throttle to full open and hold for a second, fully closed for a second (three times). Try it and see. Supposed to be done on a cold motor anyway. Good luck brother! |

David gets a Gold Star. Seems to have fixed the problem. . . . at least on the first cold start after the TPS reset. We'll see tomorrow when I attempt another cold start. I get the dunce cap for not trying that first before posting. :-) You saw my screen name right? :-)

It's all good Noobuel, I do the same thing. Although... I normally troll around here for a little bit. I usually only post something if I think I'm right (which is rarely the case, ask my wife). On a side note, I remember stumbling upon a thread with an individual experiencing similar issues. TPS reset was suggested and it seemed to work, so I thought I'd point you in the same direction. Anyhoo... Hope it works!! |
