It appears that both of my low beam headlights are not working. I can't find anything in the manual about a fuse that might be out, so I guess they are both burnt out. the manual does not have good instructions on how to replace. It looks like the cowling needs to be removed, is that correct? has anyone had this problem?

Thanks

remove the rubber boots the lamps unplug and either twist out or a wire bale holds them

one other possibility the starting relay cuts them out IIRC the lows and highs are the same so you should be able to substitute if you suspect a problem.

good point, I will try that, as both the high's are working.

also, it didn't look like I could get to the lows without removing stuff.

If it turns out BOTH bulbs are burnt out watch your voltage once you get new bulbs in it. Over voltage from a faulty regulator can cause the bulbs to burn out.
