The OEM tire (Corsa 3) is discontinued so any you find at this point are old stock.

If you are looking for more economical, the Pirelli Angel GT is my recommendation, it is a great sport touring tire that lasts significantly longer on the street than the Corsa lineup.

+1 on the Michelin PR 2 or 3...running 34 psi frt/38psi rear...profile is very "round"...you can control the lean angle...the bike won't "fall in" like some tire profiles

I went with the Dunlop Q3`s. Thank you all for your recommendations. I managed a really good price point with the Dunlop`s (budget concerns) plus they have a $40 rebate till the end of April.

I've had great luck with the Metzler's on my '08.

I've had two sets of them and both gave me a lot more miles than the 2 sets pirelli's I've had.

I actually can't wait to try out the new tire:http://www.metzeler.com/site/us/products/tyres-cat alogue/Sportec-M7RR.html

I've had the M3 and M5 and really liked them both (still running the M5)

I've put about 20,000 miles cumulative on Pirelli Angels, I can't say enough good things about them.

Life expectancy is very high for the grip you get. Tire grip is very linear, and IMHO very predictable nearing the limit of traction.

My angels had more group with 0 miles than my Diablo Corsa III ever had.

Wow, apparently I must have gotten a bad set of Angels.
Just took them off, cords showing on the rear after 5570 miles and not a single burnout.
Hated the grip they offered (or didn't) in my case.

I'm back on a set of Pilot Powers, I'll get over 6k on a set with twice the grip of an Angel

I just got a set of Michelin PR4's on my 2008 1125r. Only a couple of miles on them right now, but the lean angle is much nicer. The bike no longer tries to fall over, or tries to stay into a lean like it did with the stock tires that were on it. (I know, they were rock hard by now, but the lean angle was still pretty bad.)

Has anyone tried any other rear tire sizes besides the stock 180/55-17??

If you like a high performance tire, Dunlop Q3

Some people run 190 but the tire doesn't lean or turn in as fast as the 180.

Really love Conti Road Attack 2s

Got 8k out of the rear and 10k out of the front. Knee dragging and lots of commuting. Put them on all my bikes now.

I bought the Dunlop SportMax RoadSmart II tires.

I was going to do the Michelin Pilot Road 4s, but I decided not to order them because the Michelin website says "MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 is not compatible with your bike."

The Road 2s will do just fine and can be found cheap. I don't like the water tread patterns in the Road 3s and 4s

Another vote for Dunlop Sportmax. They seem to be lasting well, have more grip than I could ever use and get up to temperature very quickly. They're also good in the wet (I'm not - after 40 years of riding, I still can't forget how crap TT100's, K81'S and Roadrunners were)
I've got Conti RA2's on all my Tubers - great, but they wear quickly. Cheap too, so I'll keep using them.
The only modern tyres I'm not particularly fond of are the Michelin Power Pures I have on my Ducati 1198. Loads of grip but take ages to warm, and they make me very nervous in the wet, it'll be back to the OEM Pirellis when they're done.

I don't like the water tread patterns in the Road 3s and 4s

That's something else I liked about the Dunlops. Not only does the manufacturer say that they'll work, but they look cool too.

I tried just about every tire out their on my 1125, and found the Dunlop Q2 front cupped real bad and had a harsh ride, Bridgestone 003 would not last, Pirelli Rosso Corsa did not last much better, Michelin felt heavy in the front, Michelin Power Pure where real nice, lasted a little longer than the Rosso's, best overall for me are the pirelli Rosso II, lasted 5,000 miles and had great feel and grip.

The number one reason a front tire cups is because the tire pressure is too low!

By the way, Dunlop tires are excellent!

EBR runs them. So do I on both my X1's.

Not stock. The RS and RX come with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsas.

Nope, I check my tire pressure every time I ride no exception! Dunlops just cup, my buddy has the same problem on his RSV4.

Now I run the Dunlop Ntec slicks on my 1125 track bike, and they are just awesome, best tire I have used on the track, street is another story.
