Bought a new 1125r today! Love it so far. Can't wait to get it tagged and on the road. Just one question though. I've owned buells, but never a 1125. I know the particular one I got had some front end damage a little while back. All repaired by harley. The bike was cleared by harley to ride. I test rode the bike (in traffic :/) and noticed everything seemed to be in working order. But I got it home and it seems like when I take a slow turn in 2nd I get a nasty rattling that seems like it is coming from the front end. Its loud and I can feel it, almost sounds like engine knock, but its coming from the front end. Any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe I'm just lugging that beast a little too hard and I should downshift. I can't replicate the sound while its sitting. |

The forks clunk - it's a "feature". Keep it revving, that always helps. My CR rarely sees less than 4500 rpm |

Well I'm hoping to get it tagged tomorrow, but bad storms are coming through. Hopefully on the road the day after. Thanks for the response. I heard about the forks clunking. I just didn't imagine it would be so loud! |

Like Rat sez, especially with stock ECM, the bike really does not run well below about 3500 rpm - it tends to lug and throttle response is not as smooth as you might expect. If you're coming from the XB platform, there's a bit of a learning curve in that from about 5000 to 10000 (ie; above XB redline RPM's) is where the 1125 really pulls. Double-check torque on steering head nut - that clunk could be loose steering head - most noticeable under braking. |

Don't forget to loosen all 3 top triple clamp bolts when retorqing the steering head. |

I'm running Barker's and EBR ECM. I'll check all that out. This thing is a little daunting to work on. |

My 1125 pulls just fine all the way down to 2000? I hardly let it drop under 2500 but it will definitely do it. I'm running a hawk modified stock exhaust, other than that she's all stock. |

Spoke to a couple of buell certified mechanics today. Said it sounds normal. Apparently the 1125r just hates to be under-revved. Bear in mind that I was taking a 90 degree corner at sub-10mph in second. Real test is tomorrow. Got tags today, waiting for rain to clear. |
