Gents - recently installed an EBR ECM along w/ a Keda RT-4 exhaust and K&N filter on my '09 1125r. On my shake-down ride, my fuel light came on. Not knowing how much gas I actually needed, I was not concerned so stopped for some petrol. ~1 gallon later and the bike was full. Proceeded down the highway and the light came on maybe 10 or so miles later. Is this something to do w/ the ECM, or have the modifications caused something to go further wrong with the bike... Please help. dies3l PS. also installed an EBR race filler cap, not sure if that matters but wanted to pass that along as well. |

Fuel level is based on fuel temp... Once the threshold has been reached, the fuel light comes on... Might take a bit of time to readjust to the values of the new ECM. I'm installing my EBR ECM tonight, we'll see if it has any issues. |

Nope, the ECM has nothing to do with the fuel light. This issue is a coincidence, going back to the stock ECM won't fix it. Depending on what your issue is exactly, it is either an issue with your fuel pump or your instrument cluster. |

Is there a way to troubleshoot or will I have to wait until failure? |

You can do a resistance test across the resistor.
What you will need to do is run the test across D and A going to the fuel level sender. With a full tank it should be 800-1200 ohms (I think the upper is 1200) Anyways, if it's not. You can replace it. Here is a link to how to do that. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/728939.html?1387938610 |
