I was trying to find a recent thread where someone replaced the seals in their 2009 with the 2010 seals, but used the 2009 water pump cover. I think the thread may have been deleted? I am helping with a 2009 Buell that obviously has bad water pump seals. They don't have the money to buy the 2010 cover for the upgrade. I want to know if the new seals are the same diameter as the old. I replaced mine with new seals, a new 2010 cover, and a new shaft. This was all needed according to EBR. I just put in mine what they recommended. I am wondering why the new shaft is needed if the seals are the same. Maybe it is not needed if sticking with the old cover? |
