I'm in the process of pulling the stator (to ship to Rick's) and replacing the rotor with the EBR unit. Have any of you all had trouble separating the sprag clutch from the rotor? I got all 6 bolts removed, but the sprag clutch will not come off the back of the rotor. The service manual makes it sound like it should just fall off the back. I tried a slight encouragement with a rubber mallet around the edges of the rotor but no dice. Hoping you all have some experiential insight. |

I put some jam nuts in between and threaded in some cap head bolts (Allen) to push the 2 apart. A rented bearing puller from an auto parts store might do the trick too. I'm sure there's a few ways to skin this cat. ... |

I'm not clear on what you mean by "in between". In between what? As the sprag clutch housing and rotor are flush against each other, and what I'm trying to resolve, I'm not sure how I get the nuts between anything. I confess I'm a bit delirious, so may easily be misunderstanding you. |

If I remember right I loosen the 6 bolts the then taped them with a hammer. If your sprag clutch goes bad it acts like a weak battery fix it right away it will do more damage than just the sprag clutch not counting all the metal that goes through the motor. |

Thanks. The loose bolts tapped with a hammer was the trick! |
