Going to make the switch to the kr448 front and kr449 rear. I Have the bpf in the front and the adjustable showa in the rear for suspension. With belt drive. Currently on pirelli supercorsa sc's, and feel like I have the bike dialed in For sag, turn in and drive out, feels planted I have no complaints. Looks like the dunlops are slightly larger in diameter according to their spec sheets: 1mm taller in rear and 6mm taller in front. So my thought is to keep the handling the way it is now I should drop the triple tree down 5mm. I realize that this could change the rake and trail thus midigating the result I want. Has anyone else made the switch from pirelli sc's to dunlop slicks? Did you need to change geometry? Should I just leave it? Also did you have any issue getting warmers on the front or did you need to adjust the front fender? |

My first thought (no offense, it's just my take on things) is: how about not screwing with your suspension until you actually mount and ride the tires. Maybe you should do nothing beyond that. Side note, for a 6mm front tire diameter difference, you'd only change fork tube height half that (3 mm), to keep front geometry the same. |

Trust me I've been saying the same thing to myself! Good point on the 3mm. See that's why I put it up here, because I'm way over thinking it. I really hate the off season sometimes. That also means the the rear is only .5 difference. The 6 seemed like a huge difference. |

I wouldn't -- I'd ask my tire guy for his difference sheet and make those adjustments and then go ride it. You are adjusting for both geometry and for profile/preference. |

The changes won't be massive, but along the lines of the kinds of adjustments one would make to get more weight in the front, get a slightly faster turn in, etc. > That also means the the rear is only .5 difference. Go for an extra turn of rear ride height. That's 1mm of free shock length, typically. The Dunlop profile (on the US tires) isn't as tall as the Pirelli, and especially not the 180/60 rear. > Do whatever Jdugger says. Eh, that's taking it way too far! |

I don't think recommending that people take track setup advice from the only track instructor I know is unreasonable... Frankly, being the knowitall that I am, you should be honored that I refer to your judgement so readily. Thus sayeth Wads- Do whatever jdugger says. See, theory is all great and whatnot, to tell someone to jack up the rear a bit to make up for the more rounded profile of the Dunlop. In theory. Telling them how much to raise because you've done it before, that's a whole 'nuther thing! |

I went down 3mm, and have had no issues, I run the N-Tec slicks on mine. Initially front end felt to light (stock position) lowered the front and it has been spot on, rear gets light under hard braking, but stable at all times |

Thanks Jim. Mack, you brought the forks up 3mm/triple down 3mm. Going to get thru the holidays then talk to them and focus on setup. |

Yup, forks up, tree down. Before I did this the front end felt way light, and I had little confidence with it, after the adjustment the bike changed completely total confidence in the bike. |

JDugger, Any hints on setup for the Pirelli Trackday slicks on stock front and Ohlins shock? Next step will be some fork upgrades. It seems they are similar profile to most Pirelli street tires but never measured them. This is a street bike/trackday bike but I'm just switching wheels. |

The Superbike Pro (red stripe) 180/55? My notes from eons ago are Forks axle OC to top of EBR triple 692mm Shock free length OC 328 That fork number seems really tall for some reason... |
