I know it's probably in the archives somewhere but my eyes are hurting from reading non-related threads, so let me ask: Is there any kind of electronics in the '08 ignition key that would prevent me from having a spare cut from plain key stock?? |

No. I use an ordinary 125v heavy duty dpst switch for my bikes. No keys. |

There is nothing special, you can make a duplicate at any hardware store with a decent selection of automotive keys, or you can order a brand new set for $20 with you VIN from your dealer. |

Excellent! I was concerned that there was some sort of disable feature built in.... |

I've always wanted to do one of those RFID keyless systems, but I've never had a bike worthy of the expense. Maybe I've found my match this time... |

The ignition on these things is shockingly simple. |

Went by local locksmith shop. $6.50 later I have a spare cleverly hidden in the bodywork. Now I will probably forget where I hid it! |
