Hey Dean, Shameless plug: How about a nice clean pod and tail section, '09 swingarm, and extra set of wheels to match that machine?!?! Nudge Nudge... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/724622.html?1382982300 |

Looks like you lost traction in the rear. Thats where traction control would come in handy. Good thing you didnt get run over. I like how all the good citizens stopped to see if you were ok....LOL. |

Looked like a lowside on cold wet pavement. I'm sorry to hear, but at the same time glad you are ok, and the only damage to the bike was cosmetic/minor pieces. |

That's with what EBR reccomended? What do you do now, get an aftermarket race clutch kit? |

> What do you do now, get an aftermarket race clutch kit? Probably just a new set of frictions and steels. They *are* wear parts. Dean, do you need the clutch pack at a specific thickness, or just a clutch pack that's got friction material left on it? I go through a couple of clutch packs a year, but they are out of tolerance for the Suter clutch at about half-worn. |

That's what I meant, a friction plate kit or whatever. I thought Dean called EBR and they recommended he use upgraded clutch parts, which he installed. But I'm too lazy to go check.... |

It's possible he needs the stiffer clutch springs for more clamp. I use a slightly stiffer set up in my Suter clutch than stock, and it lets me get just a touch more life out of the clutch pack -- but that clutch is a whole 'nuther animal, and not really something I'd recommend to a drag racer as worth while. |

I've been using the Barnett's 1125 pack kit with the Suter clutch, and they are drop-in, except for the springs (which go to a parts bin). For stock clutch, the Barnett stuff is easily available (around $200). Not sure what the EBR upgrades are... |

You like the Barnett? I find they last about half as long as the OEM plates... You running the suter? |

Oem plates last longer? What about non-slipper plate longevity? |

I've used the Barnett pack because I had them as a back-up set in the trackside box o goodies. They lasted me a season OK - 7 race weekends and assorted trackdays between. You're harder on clutches than I am, faster too. |

Jim - As far as springs, are you talking about the "race" springs EBR sells? I loaded a set of those for a customer and the clutch pull was like an old Triumph... please no stop-n-go traffic.... :-( I was worried, but he liked it. even a month later. Z |

> are you talking about the "race" springs EBR sells? Yea, it adds clamping pressure. The Suter clutch I use offers a similar arrangement, but they are dual, staked diaphragm springs, so you get more clamping force without such a dramatic difference at the lever. |

I may have mentioned clutch problems before but it was something that happened once, maybe twice on a different kind of oil and I quickly looked past as it power wheelies in 4th and seems to have been solid with no issues. But now its slipping for sure no doubt about it. |

I will have to get a new clutch cover and puck on top of the disks since its damaged from the slide. Might not make it to the newyears day drags as I cannot put that much money into my bike right now. |
