Can the software in the cluster be updated from 6.1 to 6.2? |

Well that sucks.. There should be no reason they can't update it. Is this a recall? |

There is no way to interface with the cluster, that is why it can't be updated. There is nothing to recall, if your cluster wasn't working, it would get replaced like any other broken component. They would only recall it if there was a safety issue like a bad batch not operating the signals correctly. The only change I am aware of with the newer firmware is to correct the reading from the low fuel sensor |

What's wrong with using the 6.1 software? I have it in my '09 CR and it is a non-issue for me. I always use the kill switch every single time, so the battery drain "problem" isn't actually a problem for me. |

I don't have the battery drain, just the low fuel light |

Is it on all the time or only when it's cold outside at initial fire up? Mine does it on cold mornings for a few miles. |

Mine does the same exact thing when it's cold out. Personally, I don't care about it because I know it's got plenty of gas. To the best of my knowledge due to research on the almighty BadWeb, it has something to do with the resistance of the fuel pump at a particular temperature. I think someone even put a potentiometer on to adjust the resistance (voltage?) that the ECM sees to keep the light off. Not 100% sure if it helps or not. I just know it's almost a glitch in the matrix kind of thing. I don't worry about it because I know it's ok. |
