Will an EBR ECM transfer from a CR to an R without any re-programming ? I am not sure if the programming is different due to the gearing - plus my R is an 08 with the original injectors. |

When I contacted them earlier this year it was $85, I don't think they actually have a set price and it depends on who answers the call/e-mail. (Message edited by noobuel on September 22, 2013) |

I ran an R in my CR. The speedo was 6 mph fast. So I'm guessing just the opposite in your case. Just run it and see how you like it. Pretty hassle free. (Message edited by figorvonbuellingham on September 22, 2013) |

here's EBRs response: We only offer a recalibration service for EBR ECMs. If the bike has a stock ECM installed, we cannot recalibrate that ECM. If you do have an EBR ECM installed in the bike, let me know. I can email you a form to fill out and let you know the cost. You are correct about the improvements that our ECMs typically provide. To give you more information, I need to know what the configuration of the bike is. Stock exhaust, air filter, & ECM? sounds there's nothing that can be done with the stock ECM? that kinda narrows the choices or am i reading that incorrectly? |

By my understanding they will not touch stock ECMs. Probably don't want to incur the wrath of HD's lawyers ... |

Modifying the stock ECM is illegal anyway, as it is tampering with an EPA emissions control device (same as modifying the exhaust) EBR will modify their Race ECMs for a small charge, but they legally can't touch the stock ECM. What you do on your own is one thing, but they can't do it. Back to the original question, the only difference in programming on a R vs CR is the speedo calibration, using the wrong ECM will give a speedometer reading that is 8% off, but otherwise there is no difference. |
